Happy 4 Months, Bennett!

At four months, you:

- weigh about 14.5 lbs and are 26.5 inches long.

- wear some 3-6 month, some 6 month clothes. The sleeper you have on in this picture is a 9 month. The length is perfect. You're a tall boy!

- take 4 oz of formula every 3 hours. You usually go 5 or 6 hours after your last night feeding before waking up to eat.

- have started giggling out loud. You did that on the day you turned 15 weeks. We cannot get it on video, but it's so sweet.

- just moved up to size 2 diapers.

- randomly decided you liked the Avent pacis better. I needed a paci in your room one day, grabbed one of those from the drawer, and you've been a fan since!

- have wild hair! I think we're gonna have to start using gel. It's precious, really. I think you're going to have good hair like your sister!

- have tried baby food for the first time. You tried sweet potatoes Sunday (you turned 17 weeks old). You weren't sure about your first taste, but then you decided it was yummy!! You tried green beans last night. You ate a few bites and decided they were not yummy, and you started making awful faces. We gave you some sweet potatoes, and you just grinned and at them up! Tonight, you gobbled up carrots! You just smile and get so excited when you realize it's time to eat with a spoon!

- celebrated your fourth holiday - Valentine's Day!

- have had your first stuffy nose. It took about 7 days of daycare for that to happen. We were prepared; we knew it was inevitable. It's definitely affected your sleep - you get upset when you can't breathe through your nose. We just try to keep Baby Vicks on your feet/chest. And we've put a vapor plug in your room for the last couple of nights. That has seemed to help a lot!

- are sleeping in your bed. Hallelujah, Praise The Lord! I don't even know how it happened. You started  daycare one Friday and slept 4 hours in your bed Saturday night, woke up to eat, and slept another 2 hours in your bed. That counts as ALL NIGHT LONG, in our book. We still swaddle you after you fall asleep at night. You wiggle around when you wake up and try to get your arms loose, but you don't hate it like you did.

- you have to be walked around at night to fall asleep. You prefer to be on my left shoulder, snuggled in and looking around. You sometimes wake up after I lay you down, but I pick you up for a second and you fall right back asleep. The last few days, you've really fought sleep. I think the stuffy nose is more to blame than anything.

- have gotten yourself to sleep a few times in your swing or if we bounce your bouncy seat. You prefer to use your lovey to cover your face, which I hate. But you go to sleep much faster if we just let you do it. I watch you on the monitor settle yourself sometimes, if your paci falls out or you just wake a little. You show great promise for getting yourself to sleep one day...we're just so glad you're in your bed, I think you've bought yourself some leeway!

- need to work on napping, but we know that'll come! You take great naps at daycare. We just aren't structured enough at home, I guess.

- are still taking your Prilosec and gas drops. We only do the gas drops before and after school, and that seems to be okay. We could probably try to phase them out. But we're too scared. Although the colic has officially passed.

- are strong!! You try to get up sometimes when you're laying down. See below - you kept trying to sit up while we took your picture!

- have the most beautiful blue eyes. Your daddy and I think you get them from your PaPaw Dale, which is perfectly fitting.

- love to "talk." You make the sweetest little noises when you talk back to us.

- love to watch Avery Claire. She gets a big grin out of you just by walking by.

- rolled from your back to your stomach in front of Nana and Papa last Saturday. They didn't even know it was a big deal and casually mentioned it. We made you do it again for us. You have rolled from your stomach to your back a few times, but don't really do it very often. You actually did it for the first time the day we brought you home - maybe it was the incline of the bed? We weren't sure, but we were amazed.

- are the sweetest, most precious baby boy in the world. You are such a happy boy. Daddy, Mommy, and Sister are so very glad you were the baby God picked to join our family.
