First Weekend of Summer {and potty celebration}

The first official weekend of our summer has been great. Our house is somewhat in order {even though it's a 24-7 job to keep it that way}. We have nothing we have to do and no schedule to follow.

Last night, we had a slight incident with my camera. So, after Avery Claire and I took it to Best Buy this morning, we came home to play. Thank God for extended warranties and cameras that get broken before the warranty expires! But I'll be without my camera for 10-14 days!

Here are some weekend pictures...

I think Avery Claire is ready to be potty trained, but I don't want to spend a lot of time stressing over it. I let her wear panties or pull ups when she wants. I let her sit on the potty whenever she wants. She always tells me immediately after she has peed or pooped.
Saturday morning, after she ate and drank some milk, she wanted to sit on the potty. And she PEED!!!!! We were so excited! I'd told her she could have a Twizzler whenever she tee-teed on the potty. She was so excited and proud. We called Nana and Mema to tell them so they could make a big deal about it, too.

I think it's a step in the right direction, anyway.
I'm going to pack my bags. We're headed to the beach tomorrow to spend a couple of days with Kate and Chambless. We're so excited!

Summer Cleaning

Thank God for a husband that will entertain my child...Avery Claire and Dusty did a lot of this today.

I've spent a lot of time on these this week:

And it was time for me to tackel this:

I do vacuum, dust, clean bathrooms, swiffer every week. But I don't do baseboards and fans often. And I don't clean well under dressers, beds, etc like I should, either. After some serious cleaning, I cannot tell you how much better I felt.
While Avery Claire took a 4 hour nap this afternoon, I ran to Target to buy new bedding. I needed a change. Now I need to decide what color to accent with. Red? Light blue? What do you think? The pillows are white with a pale yellow stripe. It's hard to see in this picture.
I know brown would look good, but I'm tired of brown. That's what we had before this.

Splash Pad

I am happy to report that we are still on a great summertime schedule! It's so nice not having to get up before 7:00 every morning!
Today, we headed to the splash pad at a nearby park. Could she be any cuter? And she's just as sweet and precious as she is cute!
Photobucket I wasn't sure how Avery Claire would like the splash pad. I was worried she wouldn't want to get her head wet and wouldn't want to touch the water. Boy, was I wrong. It took her about 3 minutes to realize how much fun she could be having. She was running all over the place, through the water. I was tickled and had so much fun just watching her play. I followed her for a few minutes, then just sat down on a bench to watch. She absolutely had the time of her life. I managed to get her to stop for a quick picture. Photobucket Right before we left, she kept grabbing the insides of her legs. I thought she had tee-teed and it was bothering her. When we got to the car and I took off her swimsuit, I realized her little legs were raw because her swimsuit had rubbed them! I felt so bad! In my defense, she didn't act at all like it bothered until 2 minutes before we left. We came home and lathered her legs in vaseline and she took a really long nap! Like a 3 nap! I see a lot of splash pad in our future!

Summertime Schedule

Avery Claire and I had a little talk yesterday about a great summertime schedule. I told her she could stay up past 9:00 if she'd start sleeping in til around 8:00. She didn't like all of the talk about sleeping. She {according to her} is never tired or sleepy. She did, however, have to be woken up this morning after 8:00!! She went to daycare for a little bit today and Dusty is picking her up at lunch.

She knows every baby that is in that bed and if one is missing at bedtime she starts asking for her "udder baby" {other baby}. And you can't even see the babies at the other end of the bed.
