13

This week, Baby D is the size of a peach.

My sweet friend Kate gave me this day-to-day calendar that tells us what's happening with Baby D each day. It's so fun to look every day to see what's happening and developing with our baby.
Thank you, Kate!!

How far along: 13 weeks
Net weight gain/loss: up about 5 lbs.
Maternity clothes: Bought the BeBand yesterday (and a couple of maternity shirts)
Stretch marks: No (and let’s pray for none!!)
Belly button: innie
Sleep: Still interrupted every couple of hours for a bathroom break accompanied by lots of tossing and turning (I’ll be trying out the huge body pillow Tia lent me tonight to see if it helps me stay on my left side…I’m a belly sleeper, so that’s been hard!)
Baby movement: Not yet
Food cravings: Still Hidden Valley ranch dip with potato chips…and pizza
Food aversions: No…
What I miss: McDonald's sweet tea
Looking forward to: Having more energy and getting more exercise – hopefully the rain is behind us for a few days!
Best moment this week: We’re in the 2nd trimester!
Milestones: Fingerprints have formed on Baby’s fingertips! Baby D’s nostrils, cheeks, lips, and chin are becoming more defined. Baby D can open his or her mouth and is almost 3 inches long.

12

This week, Baby D is the size of a plum.
How far along: 12 weeks
Net weight gain/loss: up a couple of lbs.
Maternity clothes: Not yet (but I’m going to have to shop next weekend!)
Stretch marks: No (and let’s pray for none!!)
Belly button: innie
Sleep: Still interrupted every couple of hours for a bathroom break
Baby movement: No
Food cravings: Hidden Valley ranch dip with potato chips (really healthy, right?)
Food aversions: No…
What I miss: Diet Mountain Dew
Looking forward to: More energy!
Best moment this week: I found caffeine free Dr. Pepper! Thank you, Phil Campbell Piggly Wiggly!! (Since diet drinks are not recommended, I’ve decided I can drink a little bit of a caffeine free drink…but they’re hard to find!)
Milestones: As we move into the second trimester, baby shifts into the growth and maturation stage. After weeks in the critical development stage, almost all of baby's vital systems are fully formed.

Roll, Tide, Roll!

Saturday, we met my parents at the Bama game, where we enjoyed the game vs. North Texas from the view of the Coca-Cola suite. We've decided the suite is the way to watch a game!! We had an endless supply of food (ribs, shrimp, cheese straws, fruit, chips & dip, ice cream, etc), drinks, t-shirts...and the bathroom was just at the back of the room. Games in the rain or hot sun (or freezing cold) just won't be the same from the "real" stands...

11

As I've said, this blog is for you, but since I'm not such a dedicated scrapbooker, it's also for us so we can document and remember....
We're at 11 weeks...over 1/4 of the way is behind us!
This week, Baby D is about the size of a lime...I think it's really weird to compare Baby to food, but on all of the pregnancy websites, that's what they do...guess they think pregnant women only think in terms of what's to eat?!

Rick and Bubba, Rick and Bubba

I left my garage Wednesday morning at 4:05 A.M. headed to see Rick and Bubba...

Photobucket I went with a couple of teachers I taught with in Decatur. We got these tickets in April, so we'd been looking forward to going for awhile!
We arrived in Bham at 6:30 and made it to our Golden Ticket seats around 7.

Photobucket We wore shirts that said "We're skipping school for Rick and Bubba", which they loved.
We had such a good time! They were much more personable than we imagined...they came over and chatted during every commercial break (and if you didn't realize how many commercial breaks they take, count them sometime!! It's unreal!)

Baby's 1st Picture

Here is our sweet "Baby D" at 9 weeks...We went to the dr. last week and everything looks great. We heard the baby's heartbeat and even got to see him or her moving around. We were AMAZED!
