Thanks, Nan and Pops!

Nana and Papa came this weekend. We enjoyed having them here...maybe one day they'll quit their jobs and move to our neighborhood. Avery Claire doesn't understand why they don't just go ahead and do that this week.

We got to have a much-needed date night last night!!

Thanks, Mom and Dad, for all you do for us!! We couldn't make it without you!

Cheer Debut {and Happy Birthday, Mema!}

Avery Claire's cheer squad {along with the other squads} got to go to the football game last night and do a cheer before the game.

She and Addison got on the same squad, which tickled us all!

With our favorite "big" cheerleader, Abby

She's got the posing down!

I had my doubts that she would get out there and do anything. She surprised me with just as much sass as she has at home. She loved every second of it and was as cute as a bug out there!

She was a little unsure of the spirit line!

She and her buddy Jackson have a ball at the games. They are really sweet together.

This morning, they had cheer pictures.

And then, after delays and rain, they cheered at the jamboree. I was a little worried she wouldn't actually "perform" when she got out there, but she loves it.

And we had to get a picture of the four of us!

Happy birthday, Mema! We hope you've had a fun day and wish you were here with us!!

Lazy Saturday

I got in some good early morning snuggles with my main little man this morning.

And we had a lazy day at home, which was much needed!!

We did manage a walk!

And I'll update you more later...but here's the future home of the Davis's (not the already being framed house - just the empty lot). Yep. We're crazy.

Bennett's First Football Game

The first football game of the season was Friday night, and it was Bennett's first football game ever!

He did so good and we made it the whole game.

Do you see those people behind us? We didn't know them before the game. We did after the game, because Bennett sat with them for at least a full quarter.

The Trojans won!!

My little cheerleader

We sat with Mrs. Weaver - I won't be surprised if she finds a new place to sit next week. (We sat beside her last year, too. That was before Avery Claire was in her class!)

Cheer Camp

This is Avery Claire's first full week of Kindergarten (all day, every day). Isn't it fitting that cheer camp also fell this week?! Three days. 2.5 hours - each day!

Avery Claire signed up to cheer for the youth football league, so they worked on learning the cheers and dance they'll do at their games.

Think that's enough personality for one picture?

And not to leave brother out...

Happy 10 Months, Bennett!!

- weigh between 20-21 pounds. You're long and skinny.
- are wearing mostly 9-12 month clothes. All of your 9 month shorts still fit, skinny boy.
- have eaten more "real" food. At daycare, you've tried lots of different foods. Ms. Sandra says you love pizza and graham crackers. At home, I still feed you baby food most of the time. And you love some Cheerios!
- ARE STILL SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT. You had a cold the week before school started and had a couple of rough nights, and I was worried your sleep habits would be way out of whack. But, you got right back into it!
- usually take 2 naps and sometimes a quick catnap around 5-6 to help you make it to bedtime. You're taking good naps at daycare (in a bouncy seat). I was worried that you sleeping in a bouncy at daycare would make it hard to get you to sleep in your bed at home. Last weekend, your naps weren't great, but nighttime has been good, and that's what I was most worried about.
- I always read a book to you in your room while you finish a bottle and then put you in your bed. You usually lay down without crying and go to sleep. Sometimes, you might cry for a few seconds and then you're okay.
- give us high-five. You think it's so funny. You really think it's hilarious to give us double high-fives.
- love to read bedtime stories. You will sit so still and listen, and I love it.
- have to sleep with your monkey cuddler. I ordered another one so we'd have one for daycare and one for home.
- love to play peek-a-boo. You've started putting things over your face and playing with us.
- are super fast and love to be chased. You are very good at standing up and balancing.
- still love to cuddle while you sleep. You always lay right next to the rails in your bed to be close to something. You usually wake up around 6 for a bottle, and at the end of summer, we'd go back to sleep in my bed til around 8:00. That's what our weekends are still for, buddy, right?
- have four teeth. Those top two finally broke through.
- love for me to pour water over your head to rinse shampoo out of your hair. You tilt your head back and just smile while I rinse.
- LOVE your sister. She's starting to act more and more like a little mama to you, and you think she's the funniest thing around.
- have been saing "da-da-da-da" for awhile, and you've starting saying "ball" every time you see a ball. It sounds more like "bah," but we know that's what you're saying. So, I'd say the first word you really said on purpose with real intent was "ball."
- love to see other babies. You just smile and always want to touch them.
- love to drive trucks and cars. It's so funny and sweet to me to see you act like a little boy. You'll drive a little truck or tractor all around the living room.
- are so happy and laid back. You're such a friendly baby and don't meet a stranger.
- are our sweet, silly, baby boy.

Bath Time Climber

This is what bath time has become. I physically can't get it done by myself most nights. And that's not easy. Grandma's gone home. Dusty is at practice. Avery Claire is a huge help, but bath time just isn't her thing.

So I finally ordered a bath seat. We had one with Avery Claire (I think courtesy of Brandi!!). It's kind of like Avery Claire's car seat and a couple of other things - lost in the move.

He thinks he's big stuff. And now I can bathe him by myself!!

Wild Weekend

It was a wild weekend around here, folks. We did manage to go get something to eat last night and go to WalMart for groceries.

You'll be shocked, but this one already had a runny nose, so we skipped church to try to keep from spreading that love around to the babies there.

Thank you, Grandma!!

I worried for days about the logistics of picking Avery Claire up at lunch for her first 5 days of school. My prayers were answered when I got a text from Grandma saying that if we needed her to come help, she'd be happy to do it.

I don't know what we'd have done if she hadn't come. And an extra pair of hands during the first "real" week of school was better than I ever could've imagined.

Thanks, Grandma, for all you do for us!! We love when you visit. We'll need you again, I'm sure, but you don't have to be asked to come to come see us!!
