Spring Break 2014

We've been pretty lazy this week. It's been about 40 degrees daily, so when we neared 60ish Thursday, Dusty and Avery Claire headed to the park while I worked on our disaster of a playroom,

We've found lots of indoor entertainment this week cause it's been too, too cold to be outside.

Friday, we headed to the mall and my sweet husband made a special trip to the hospital so I could have a mocha. Yes, our Starbucks is in our hospital gift shop. They are currently building one near our mall.

We have thoroughly enjoyed a very lazy week at home. I wouldn't trade one sweet snuggle with my sweet girl.

Neither would her Daddy.

It did warm up enough this afternoon to spend some time outside! In our shorts, no less!

Avery Claire Has BIG News!

We announced our big news to our family {and Facebook} last weekend, so it's time to make it "blog official."

Our family is growing! Baby #2 will arrive in October 2014.

We have one excited big sister on our hands! She has been praying every night for two or three months that God would give us a baby. She cannot wait for Mommy to get a big belly. She's already talking to "her baby."

Happy 4th Birthday, Avery Claire!!!

Today, our baby girl turned four. FOUR. I hate cliche sayings, but, really, it seems like yesterday that we were heading to the hospital, me certain that I wasn't really in labor and would be sent home in embarrassment. Little did we know how this precious girl was going to complete rock our world in the best way we could ever have imagined.

If you want a Taco Bell waffle taco for breakfast, that's exactly what you get.

And where else would a 4 year old cutie go on her birthday but Chuck E. Cheese?!!

We sang "Happy Birthday" again tonight and had yet another cupcake, of course.

Avery Claire, you are absolutely the very best thing to ever happen in Mommy and Daddy's life. You make like so fun and crazy. You say something that makes us shake our heads and laugh every single day. You are so growny. And, oh, so very sassy. Your sassiness and stubbornness get you in trouble about once {or twice} a week. We could spank you all day long, but put you in time out and make you stay in your room and your heart is broken.
You love to play school. You are always the bossy teacher. We think you will have a future in hoarding based on your love of filling bags full of stuff and the stack of books/papers you keep piled up on your makeshift "desk."
You love to be on the go. Your worst punishment is probably making you stay home and not go with me somewhere. I think we've only used one that once!! You are so very observant of everything anyone says. You forget nothing. You love french fries and ranch. And the Pizza Hut buffet - you know it's on Tuesdays and Sundays and make sure we know it's open on those days.
You are a Mama's girl. There's nothing in this world like those sweet arms around me saying "you're a sweet Mama"!!! We thank God every day that He sent you to us. We love you much, sweet girl, and couldn't imagine life without you. Happy birthday!!

Party Weekend

We partied all weekend with the birthday girl. She was spoiled rotten and enjoyed every second of it.

So many of the kids her age at school were born within a week of each other. So, we headed to another party this afternoon.

And we had one worn out girl tonight. Can you tell?

Avery Claire's 4th Birthday Party

Today, we celebrated this cute chick's upcoming 4th birthday.

Can y'all believe she's gonna be FOUR?!!!!!

She originally asked for a Peppa Pig birthday at Chuck E. Cheese. Then, we went to Zoey's birthday at "the jumpy place," and her mind was forever changed. She was adamant that her party had to be at "the jumpy place."

This was the first year we've invited her friends. Oh, y'all. They were so excited.

I can't remember what this was about. I promise she had a smile on her face for 99% of the party. But what kind of mom would I be if I didn't post the classic "it's my party and I'll cry if I want to"?

A good time was had by all. Our girl is loved more than she will ever know by so many of our people.

Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!!

This week is Read Across America. Avery Claire's class is celebrating big every day. And I'm having a book fair this week, so we're celebrating at my school, too. Grandma is visiting to <strike> work like a dog </strike> help at the book fair.

Here's our little photo booth.

And here a few pics of my girl dressed up for her silly days!

Grandma, we couldn't have made it this week without you. Thanks so much for driving all this way and working a 40 hour week for zero pay. We loved having you and hope you come back to stay again - just because. We promise not to put you to work!
