What We've Been Up To

I love being off work! Why do our off weeks go by so fast?!

We pretended to be "snowed in" Sunday. Church really was cancelled, so we didn't get dressed until very late!

Monday, we spent some time with "Aunt B" and her sister Cassie (click on their names to see their blogs).

We headed back to Russellville Monday afternoon so we could unpack and take our Christmas decorations down! I cannot stand for them to be up for any longer than they have to be after Christmas. This may be the rebel in me because Nana has never gotten in a hurry about getting hers down!

We've had so much fun being home with Avery Claire this week. We've slept late (our princess needs at least 12 hours of beauty sleep each night, and we're not complaining about sleeping until 8:30 or 9:00!). We've played. We've read all of the new books Avery Claire got for Christmas. We've shopped. We've tried some new solid foods and learned that Avery Claire loves bread and likes nothing "mushy." Avery Claire had her 9 months pictures made. Nana came. We've played. We've shopped. Papa joined us (and let Avery Claire have her first sip of sweet tea!).

And we've played some more (with a new doggie Mommy thought you needed from one of our shopping trips, like you didn't get enough for Christmas).

You showed Emma how to play with your new toys (or she tried to show you). Her exact words, "She's WILD!" It's too funny to watch you girls together!

Mommy and Nana spent some time in the kitchen tonight getting a few things ready for New Year's Eve.

Just in case you're wondering, we didn't forget our first child for Christmas. He got a new bed!!

We've had the very best week and Mommy will definitely shed a few tears Sunday night and Monday morning, but I guess I'll just have to count down the days until MLK, Jr. Day...'cause we're not going to talk Daddy into letting Mommy stay home. We're going to squeeze every second out of the next 3 days we have at home!

Christmas Recap

Avery Claire, your first Christmas was perfect and amazing, just like you. We had so much fun sharing you with our family and friends. Because it would take me days (and let's face it, I've got to get this Christmas post in before we ring in a new year), I'm going to recap Christmas with lots of pictures and a few words.

Hudson wanted to love on you...or maybe just get your hairbow.

Allie's a natural - she's going to be such a good Mommy when her little girl gets here in May. (Notice we've lost the tight jeans so you get around a little easier)

You and Hudson could really get into some trouble if you were left alone for very long.

After gift-swapping (some of your gifts were from Uncle Matt & Aunt Sarah - that brought tears to Mommy's eyes, and if someone hadn't thrown away the nametag I hid, I'd have taken a picture of it).

Christmas Day...We woke up to snow!

Look at what Santa left for you!

You were given 3 of these strollers (from Nana, Mema, and Grandmother Joann). Mommy and Daddy got tickled when you opened your 3rd one. Everyone knows how you love to shop and thought you'd need a stroller for your babies!

By the time we left the lodge, we had a real "white Christmas." How much more perfect could your first Christmas get?!
