Avery Claire had her daycare Christmas party this afternoon. I was kind of excited because that's something that, as an elementary school teacher, you kind of think is a big deal. And it's something I've always kind of looked forward to doing "one day with my own kid(s)." So, this was a fun first for us!
The big kids ate their cupcakes and chips. Avery Claire had her Cheerios. And she did get a bite or two of cookie!
Can you believe how big she looks sitting in this highchair?
Then we had a surprise visitor....Santa and Mrs. Claus came to see the boys and girls!
Avery Claire was the only daycare child under 4 who would have anything to do with Santa! I'm sure it will be different next year, but she was just as amazed by him this time as she was the first time.

When Santa asked how old she was and we told him almost 9 months, he said "well, she sure holds herself up good for a 9 month old."
Uh, what, Santa? We said 9 months, not weeks!
Then Santa wanted to know if she could walk yet. Hmmmm....no, Santa, but she can crawl. Santa was sweet, but he was a little mixed up.
After all of the boys and girls had told Santa what they wanted for Christmas, Mrs. Teresa wanted a group shot of all of the daycare kids (plus her 6 week old granddaughter, Ellie).
If you look closely at each of these pictures, I promise you can find something funny in every one of them.Thirteen Fourteen kids, Santa, Mrs. Claus, and two frazzled daycare workers + group photo = chaos...especially when some of the kids screamed everytime someone took them near Santa!

Avery Claire noticed Taylor's hairbow.
She's still trying for the hairbow.
Can't quite reach it....
Please look at the hands on the hips! Too funny! And Mrs. Claus hasn't a clue...
Not sure who's she's waving at.
Two-hand wave now...
We had so much fun the Christmas party! We are so lucky to have such great ladies taking care of our baby every day!
We're heading to Birmingham tomorrow for the Davis family Christmas. So that means I've already started to get things organized and packed tonight. It's amazing how much thought goes into a day trip with a baby!!
