Halloween 2012

Last weekend, we took Avery Claire to the McGee Farms (the pumpkin patch). She was so excited about going, but the trip was a little longer than we realized and she got sleepy on the way. So, she was a little cranky by the time we got there. Not to mention that it somehow turned -20 degrees Saturday. So we stayed for about 20 minutes and froze our hineys off.
We did manage to get a few good pictures. Not a fan of the chickens. PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
I tried to take a few pictures after church Sunday. Silly girl PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

We finally carved our pumpkins Sunday night, right before bedtime. Photobucket
(Please excuse the foam headband. I bought it at Hobby Lobby to cover with fabric to match an outfit and she seriously wore it around the house for days like this.)
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket I'm the pumpkin carver around here. If you know Dusty, you know his squeamish self can't handle the pumpkin guts. Photobucket
Papa grew this little pumpkin for Avery Claire in his pumpkin patch this year. He was so proud of it and so was she!
Photobucket Avery Claire dressed up as "Dorfy" for Halloween. I could have eaten her up with a spoon. Cutest Dorothy ever. Before School: PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket Before Church Fall Festival and Trick or Treating PhotobucketPhotobucket Sweet Becca went with us to the church fall festival because Dusty was still at practice (he did get to trick or treat with us!). Avery Claire was so shy at the fall festival. I guess there was a lot going on, and from a little kid's perspective, it was probably overwhelming!
Thanks, Becca, for getting in the bouncy house with Avery Claire! I knew how much you really loved her when you offered to get in there with her and 11 other wild kids. Photobucket

I love Halloween. It's seriously becoming one of my favorite holidays! Halloween with kiddos is too much fun!

House Update

I know it's been awhile since I updated about the house. Our afternoons are busy running to check on the progress, run to the lighting store or the paint store or WalMart. You know...

Our brick has been finished for a few weeks. I love it. I was worried about it a little because it's a special order and it's only on one house in our area, but with a different mortar color. So we hadn't actually seen our combination on a house. We are very pleased!
Photobucket

And as pleased as we are with the brick, I am so excited and happy we decided to do rock columns. Dusty left that up to me {because of course, more $ was involved}. I love it!
Photobucket

I think it's a little hard to tell in this picture, but our trim and gutters are done. We went with taupe trim and dark brown gutters/garage doors. Again, happy with our choice!
Photobucket

I've been to the lighting store 3 times since last Saturday. Avery Claire is known as the "Alabama girl" when we walk in because she had on a Bama shirt the first time. She's made friends with the lady there and had her counting to 3 for her to jump off the step the last time we were there. There are so many choices. I thought picking out brick was hard. I think lighting is harder. I had one light fixture in my shopping cart at Restoration Hardware and decided to go once more the lighting store. It just so happened I found a very similar light for hundreds cheaper. So, I got my dining room, foyer, and breakfast fixtures for less than the one I was going to order. Whew!!
Photobucket

And paint colors....just look at the choices. Enough said.
Photobucket

Here's our master shower. That's been a big part of our last two weeks. Picking out tile. Picking out decorative tile. Picking out grout. Picking out ceiling and floor tile. Going to pick up more tile. I think it's going to look awesome!
Photobucket

And flooring. We're using the same tile throughout, thank God. And we decided on the Chestnut, which is the one on the far right, top choice. I probably would've went darker, but my friend pointed out that every speck of dust would show up. Photobucket

We've had such a good experience with the building process. It's been pretty stress-free so far. There are lots of choices to make, but it's fun to see it all come together. And we're starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. It'll still be a few weeks until move-in time, but it won't be long! Trim is done. Painting starts Monday, then lighting goes up, then floors and cabinets. There will be lots to update soon!

Elena, I think you're the only person still reading, but as long as I know you're out there, I'll keep going! We haven't decided on the door, but the builders and I did have a discussion yesterday about glazing vs. distressing!

October continued...

Pink for a Cure
PhotobucketPhotobucket
So thankful for these two. Photobucket These don't come in my size, but if they did... Thanks, Nana! Photobucket School pictures + rolled hair for the first time. Photobucket
We were chaperones at show choir practice at Mommy's school. Photobucket Then we went on a girls' date. Photobucket Our fun was short-lived. This is what my date looked like at 10 pm after she puked up her dinner. PhotobucketPhotobucket After one more throw-up incident Saturday morning, I thought she was okay. Photobucket I found her in her room with her babies. She said, "they're all in twubble." Photobucket Thankful for a husband who made a "trophy" for my school book fair. I'll show the finished product later.Photobucket
Monday afternoon, Avery Claire got a cupcake prize for pooping in the potty at school. Photobucket After the extrememly nasty diapers I changed that night, I came the conclusion that the pooping in the potty must've been an accident. That was confirmed Tuesday when school called me. I went to get her and after the biggest, nastiest, words cannot describe poop, she felt much better! Photobucket
And she's pretty much back to her normal, silly, sweet self. Photobucket It seems Mommy has a touch of that virus after my 3 am wake-up call today. Let's hope that was the last of it!

October. Whew!

I don't know where this month has gone. I know I haven't had time to sit at the computer for more than 2 minutes. Unless it's to look at pendant lighting or wall color or playrooms on Pinterest.

A lot of our time is consumed with "house" right now. Picking out. Writing checks. That makes me think "whew!" again. My camera is still in the car from our Clay County trip {where I didn't even take it out of the car}.

We got these glasses that weekend. Nana popped the lenses out. You'll see them make more than one appearance in our pics. Photobucket She always gets good sleep when she joins me in the bed at Papa and Nana's! Photobucket One Sunday, she fell asleep on the couch. That may not sound extraordinary to most of you. But she has done this once before in her life. I was in shock. Photobucket Here's her afternoon whiney face. It makes an appearance once or twice an afternoon. I love that face even when it's whiney. Photobucket Reading her letter book from school Photobucket Miss Kaysie sent me this picture of chapel. Avery Claire takes chapel very seriously and when they say not to talk, she doesn't talk. She said she'd squeeze her eyes so tight when the other kids talked and then relax when they were quiet. Could she be more precious? Photobucket School's in session. She talks to her babies and reads to them and tries to turn the book so they can see it. So sweet. Photobucket Calling Papa to tell him the score Photobucket Snuggles on the couch

Hello, red eye.
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket My two loves during prayer after a game PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket Football friend Mack. They're about 2 weeks apart and crack me up watching each other and playing. Photobucket

And these are so random.
I started using Proactiv. I'm almost 30.
Photobucket

I bought magazines to take to a friend in the hospital. This was on the cover of one. I so wish I had time to do this.
Photobucket

You know I don't talk this way, but this was the funniest thing to me. We watch countless episodes of Max and Ruby every week and I always wonder about their parents!!
