The Week Before Christmas {and Jack's shenanigans}

I had to take night pictures of my house. We weren't in for Christmas last year and I was so excited to decorate this year. I didn't get everything done inside that I wanted to, but the outside was exactly like I pictured it.

There is nothing like hanging out watching The Grinch Stole Christmas with my little family and wrapping gifts. I'd finally caught up with monogramming (the night before we left town) and just enjoyed it. One of my favorite nights of this season.

Jack's been up to a lot of silliness. His messes bothered Avery Claire! She would say "I hope he knows he's gotta clean that up."

We headed to Clay Co Saturday. We played with Cohen and Ruthie that afternoon. These three were so funny to watch. They had so much fun. And wore themselves out.

Grandmother Jane and Blair came for a visit.

Jack left a prize Sunday morning - nerf guns. Jack knew exactly the fun and chaos these would bring to the house. It was a little dangerous at times.

Seriously. Dusty's face. That was real. And poor Sarah. They were yelling and she almost hit her knees out of confusion.

I didn't make them pose. Seriously.

Two peas in a pod before church. You could leave these two alone for days and they could handle whatever came their way. Makes me sad they can't play more often.

It's a Dickens Christmas, Y'all

Hollywood and I headed downtown today to "It's a Dickens Christmas, Y'all." I love our little downtown. But I love it even more after today.

There were snow machines on the corners.

And carriage rides with the Clydesdales. It was so cute.

(We don't know these people. We just offered to let them ride with us cause we'd all been waiting in line forever.)

This girl, y'all. If you don't really know her, you're missing out.

We tried to take a family pic today. I think we should've put the camera up a little higher.

Not My Week

To add to my "Mom of the Year" status, Monday night, we headed to gymnastics. After we'd ordered, I realized I'd left my wallet on the kitchen counter. Gym is about 20 minutes from home, so we didn't have time to go back and get it. Dusty offered to bring it, but we really didn't have time for that either. Luckily, I was meeting someone to give her something she'd bought off of Bid Wars (that's another story for another day). So while we waited, sweet Avery Claire scavenged for money. She kept saying "Look. I found enough!!"

We did get supper. And a donut for breakfast the next morning.

Wednesday, Kate, Chambless, and Lorie were meeting us for dinner. I needed to run in WalMart for fabric glue. As I turned, this is what happened. Thank God I was by myself.
She was totaled. I'm driving a rented Corolla.

I'm thankful we'd made plans with sweet friends. I needed them that night!

Friday, I went on a shopping trip with 39 of the students from my school. They were each given money to shop with. Seeing those sweet babies faces as they got to buy items from their wish list was priceless. And certainly put a silly car into perspective.

And if I needed things put more into perspective, this did it.
