Sweet Girl
My sweet girl didn't sleep past 6:30 all weekend. She did take long naps, during which I tried to get a lot done. Since my hubby was down for the count, it was all up to me. I got up early, stayed up late, and tried to keep up with Avery Claire. That alone will wear a woman down. Here are some pictures from our weekend.
Saturday afternoon photo shoot:
I tried to tell her holes in your jeans are in style. They bothered her all day long.
That scratch is from a cracker. She fell into her chair with a cracker in her hand and got a good ol' scratch on the face.
We went for a recheck Monday. Lungs are clear!!
She loves to go to "MawMart" and now she occasionally goes to the "maw" {mall}. She tells us bye and takes her baby to the kitchen and comes right back and starts over. I love it!!
Today she got some new kicks in the mail. They're a little big now, but she has worn them all night. She loves her "shop shops."
Good night! This Mama is hittin' the sack!

Her Stash
I see a diaper, a bowl of raisins covered in cling wrap she pulled off the roll, a bathcloth, tongs from the utensil drawer, a couple of beaters, a few magnetic letters from the fridge, and a pretend bottle of baby food. I don't think she'll run into any problem she can't solve with her stash.
And this picture is so random, but sometimes Avery Claire will pretend to be my baby. I love it!!

You know it's gettin' that time...
You know it's gettin' time to give up the paci when:
1) Your child stops calling her paci a "sha-shi" and starts calling it her papi.
2) Your child says "Not night night. Water {later}. No papi." If you need a translation: "It's not time for night night. We will go later. We can only have our papi at night night."
3) You find one of them that looks like this:
Avery Claire only has her paci while she sleeps. She has done soooo well with that adjustment. She gets it right before we start her breathing treatment at night and gives it up pretty easily in the mornings and after naps {most of the time}.
We don't how that paci got broken into two pieces during the middle of the night. Nor do we know where the other half is. But it's gettin' really close to "that" time...when she has to give it up. I'm so not ready.
That's enough, Mommy!!!

The Beeench
Uncle Mike gave Avery Claire this bench for her first Christmas. Until lately, it had a permanent place at the end of our hallway. We sat on it often with each other and baby dolls. The "beeench," as Avery Claire calls it, has suddenly begun traveling all over the house. It has become her means to get to anything out of her reach. If she wants a light on/off, she doesn't want us to do it for her. She will get her "beeeench" and "geeet it" herself. If she needs something off the counter or out of a drawer, she will get her beeeench.
Such a smart little stinker she is!

Happy Valentine's Day
We got Avery Claire a few little knickknacks that we knew she'd love...chapstick, dry erase crayons {with which she has written all over my glass top end table}, a book, bandaids, a cup, stuffed "goggie" {doggie}...all things you might not see the fun in. We could have just gotten her her own tube of chapstick and she'd have been in hog heaven.
We picked out a card for Avery Claire to give to Daddy at Walmart last weekend. I had to get a picture of the envelope we pieced back together before she gave him the card.
Avery Claire took little candy-filled goodies to daycare for her friends.
And we printed off lots of holiday subway art for Mrs. Teresa and Mrs. Brittany for daycare. Not sure how much they loved it, but I would be so excited to get a bundle of interchangeable subway art all ready for me to display!

Feeling Better and Visiting
I took Avery Claire to the doctor last Monday and she was diagnosed with pneumonia!!! Poor baby! I felt so bad that her little left lung was that sick and we didn't know it. Thankfully, we'd started breathing treatments Sunday and Dr. Huffman-Parker told us to continue them and gave her an antibiotic. We go back in next Monday for a recheck, but she is feeling much better. We are still doing albuterol and pulmicort in the nebulizer. By Tuesday, she was feeling much better and we spent the day playing and catching up around the house. Don't tell the dr., but we may have snuck to the mall for a minute to return some pants for Daddy {I need to tell you that story sometime}.
*For documentation purposes....I told the dr. about Avery Claire having coughing spells almost every night for 20-30 minutes. She's done this for a couple of weeks {prior to being sick}. She said that sounds very much like asthma and suggesting doing pulmicort in the nebulizer 2x a day for 2 weeks until we go back, and then continuing it 1x a day until the winter months/cold weather are over. So far, this has helped tremendously. And, more than likely, this is a childhood asthma issue that she will outgrow.*
We went to Clay County last weekend to visit. I didn't take many pictures. We visited Win Saturday morning and then stayed in all day. We ventured out to eat in the freezing cold Saturday night and were literally the only people at Partner's in town! Everyone else had sense enough to stay inside, I guess....right, Aunt B?!
Avery Claire loves to go to CC so she can see family, but she gets so excited about seeing MATT!!!!!! The girl loves her Uncle Matt....and I think the feeling is mutual. They have lots of fun together.
And Matt has all of the answers to any questions you may having about parenting, in case you're in need of help!! Just kidding. Although I cannot wait to see him with his own child one day!
