Where Does the Weekend Go?

I was so ready for the weekend! And it's flown by....time for work again tomorrow. For me, anyway. Dusty and Avery Claire have spring break ahead of them. Avery Claire has been quite the lucky girl this year, with Mommy and Daddy having different spring breaks!

These pics are from last week, I just haven't uploaded them. Every time she puts on her sunglasses, she asks for her "shone" {phone}. Wonder where she gets that?






We spent a lazy weekend indoors, for the most part. It's been rainy and cool. Perfect for lazy days {getting laundry done and trying to get our closet straightened up and switched over for summer}.
Avery Claire has claimed the TV stand as hers. She eats there, plays there...we can usually just watch TV around her.

Paper dolls have come a long way, folks.


Someone just asked me last week if Avery Claire had tried to climb out of her bed yet. No, she hasn't {and she'll stay in it until she does, even if she's 5 and still sleeping in a baby bed}.
She did, however, try to climb into it this weekend. More than once. Little monkey.



We've spent a little time in the garage, sliding and moving the chairs around.

Avery Claire will ask her baby if she wants to "wach me side?" And then she'll ask her baby if she wants to "side wif me?"

Saturday, she sat her baby on top of the slide and told her she would watch her slide. And then she sat in a chair and pumped her fist and said "GO! GO!" Sweetest.thing.ever!



Then she lined the chairs up and put everyone where she wanted them to sit.





Today, after her nap, she let me put her hair up in "ponies." I could just eat her up!

Got a watch like Daddy's. She likes to put it on his nightstand right beside his.






Twice today {in the car and in our room tonight, she has said "Wanna wach that tv." She's never asked to watch TV. She'd even gotten to where she'd yell "NO!!!" when I turned on the DVD player in the car. I don't want her to park herself in front of the TV for hours. But I wouldn't object to 20 minutes of TV time occasionally.



I do have some exciting news, and since it's official as of Friday, I can share....my principal is transferring me from 3rd grade to the library {media specialist} job for next year!!! I'm really excited {and kind of nervous} about making a change!

Going to get my girl to bed...maybe she'll sleep 'til 7 for her Daddy!

Sunday morning, Avery Claire walked into the bedroom as we were getting ready for church and said "I cewt." Translation: "I'm cute." We tell her that all of the time. The girl's got self-confidence....and a little vanity.

"Mimeout" & Things We Loved Last Week

I cannot seem to catch up, much less get ahead. This exercise program is killing me challenging, physically, mentally, and time-wise. There's not much else left in me at 10:00 every night. Every other waking second goes to my girl {and laundry}.

Does that face look like one that would be sent to timeout {or "mimeout" as Avery Claire calls it}?

I know she looks innocent, and she usually is, but this girl got sent to timeout at daycare for the first time {that we know about} yesterday. Ms. Brittany had to ask her to leave another kid that was in timeout alone. After the 3rd time that Avery Claire didn't listen, she had to go to timeout herself. Ms. Brittany wasn't even going to tell Dusty when he picked her up, but Avery Claire's friend Leah made sure to let him know!

Avery Claire was ashamed to tell me when she got home and we talked all night about how that was "not gud" and how it wasn't going to happen again.

She talks with her hands. I can't remember what she was telling me, but I am sure it was something about how Bubba hit Kirby and it wasn't nice and he got in trouble. She was great at diverting the attention away from how she got in trouble!

Really, though, Ms. Brittany and Ms. Teresa brag on how well-behaved Avery Claire is at daycare. And she is at home, too. At home, she spends a little time in timeout 2 or 3 times a week {sometimes more}, but she is usually a good listener and direction follower. I've always said I would much rather my kid misbehave at home and be well-behaved at school. So far, so good. Every body is allowed a little leeway, right?

She is such a girl. She loves shoes and make-up, purses and baby dolls. And shopping. She loves to put on eyeshadow. Clearly, she has some practicing to do.




She also loves her Daddy. And mango and prune fruit pouches.


She also loves looking at pictures. I found her the other day naming the people she saw in her picture album. Too bad her mama hasn't updated it since she was 6 months old.

Loves those babies. Takes them to "Mawmart" and the mall all.of.the.time.



She LOVED spending time with Aidan Saturday night. She watcheda and tried to copy everything Aidan did. I couldn't even get her to look at me for looking at Aidan.
