Happy 6 Months!

Avery Claire, at 6 months you:
- weigh 16 pounds, 2 ounces (as of your Sept. 12 doctor visit). We will find out official 6 month stats at your doctor visit Monday.



- love to eat!! You eat cereal twice a day. At dinner, you eat a fruit or vegetable or both, along with your cereal. We've started a few stage 2 foods - butternut squash & corn, apples & cherries, pears & rasberries.


Before you can swallow one bite, you have your mouth open for the next bite.


- have tried MumMums and really like them. They make Mommy nervous, because they break off. I'm trying to let you be independent, but most of the time I break off little bits and feed them to you. It's funny to watch you eat them, because you try to chew them up. It's very smart of you to know to chew them!




- are such a great sleeper!!! You go to bed around 8, and sleep all night. Mommy wakes you up at 6:15 to get ready for daycare. Since you've been sick some lately, we'd gotten in the habit of bouncing to sleep again. But this week, we've been laying you down in your bed and you've been going to sleep by yourself again. You cried for a few minutes the first night, but Mommy went in and gave you a kiss, and you went to sleep. Since then, you lay down and go right to sleep, even for your naps. We know how lucky we are that you are such a good little sleeper.
You are all over your bed during the night,and we never know how we'll find you!

Here's your "why are you waking me up face?"


Soon, though, you give me your "I'm so glad to see you" face:


- still love your bath! You kick and splash until I'm soaking wet!




We got a duck faucet cover, and every night you like to touch it when you get out of the tub.



- love the football games! You are such a good baby (all of the time), but Mommy is so glad you are so well-behaved at the games!


- have a little almost bald spot in the back of your head. Your hair has gotten so much lighter and a little thinner, but I think new hair is growing in quickly.


- are a squirmer! Diaper changes are getting harder every day! You're wearing a size 3 diaper, by the way.



- haven't mastered sitting up. You tip over unless we hold you up. You can prop yourself on your hands, but you end up looking like a little frog (which doesn't look very comfortable!).



- you can sit up great on the couch or in a chair, or with a hand behind you.






- can hold your bottle and get it to your mouth by yourself. I think you do this more at daycare than you do at home.




- tried a sippy cup today, just for fun! We only had one in the house, with a straw. You knew to suck the straw, but you couldn't really suck hard enough to get much juice out. You enjoyed chewing the straw, though!



- are so sweet and loving. You love to touch our faces and give "hugs." We say "awww, weee." And you say "awwww." It's precious!



- have the cutest toesies!! And you cross your feet all of the time!


- love your love bug. I'd say it's your favorite toy! Thanks, BB!


- chew on everything! If it's in your hands, it's going to your mouth!


- spent a few days sick this month! We hope next month is better! We do not like for our baby girl to feel bad!


- love our cell phones! You love to look at them (and try to chew on them!).


- love to "stand."


- are a very loved little girl! Mommy & Daddy think you are pretty fond of us, too!



- are so silly! We laugh with you all of the time!! You are giggling more and more often. Your giggle is the sweetest, most precious sound we've ever heard in our lives! We love seeing your funny, sweet, feisty personality emerging more and more each day!



You've definitely mastered rolling!! And love it! You can scoot on your belly get anywhere you want!

- You "talk" all of the time! You babble, squeal, and babble some more. You say "bye, bye, bye" and "da-da-da-da." You say "hiiiii." I know you don't really know what you're saying yet, but it's precious to hear!





- are the most beautiful, precious baby girl in the entire world! Mommy and Daddy love you more than we could ever tell you. We are so proud to be your parents and love every second of watching you grow! We cannot believe you have been with us for half of a year. It seems like yesterday you were born, but then again it seems like you've been a part of our little family forever! We love you, Avery Claire Davis and thank God for giving you to us!
