V-Day {& Giveaway}

I love holidays, even the "little ones." I know some people are of the "Valentine's Day is such a commercial holiday" belief. And maybe we should treat every day like it's Valentine's Day....but that's just why I think Valentine's Day is an important holiday. Life is busy, isn't it? It's so busy that, when we do find time to go on a "date," we sometimes just want to stay home and relax! So, when Valentine's Day rolls around, it's a great excuse to dress up a little and have "date night." In the past, we've celebrated Valentine's Day with dinner and a movie. Two years ago, we took a weekend trip to Nashville. We shopped and ate all weekend. That weekend was one of the first times we really discussed when we'd have children. And that weekend was the first time we discussed naming our little girl Avery Claire.

This year, we have a new Valentine to celebrate with. I've learned over the last 10 months that romantic certainly does not have to mean candlelit dinner for two! I fall more in love with my husband every day as I watch him with our little girl. So this year, Valentine's Day will be extra special because we will celebrate it together, with the new little love of our lives. Dinner over Gerber mac-n-cheese and Similac formula will be the most special Valentine's Day we've ever experienced.
Here's a picture of our cute Valentine this morning before school (which was delayed until 10:30 due to weather for the third time in 3 weeks!). We could get used to these late, easy mornings!

Remember when Shutterfly gave away Christmas cards? Shutterfly has some really cool stuff, like these Valentine's Day gifts.
