What a Relief...

Avery Claire hasn't had any Prilosec (for reflux) in over a week!! We stopped the
2nd dose around Christmas. We'd had a hard time getting her to take her medicine at night after she stopped taking her late nap. We usually had to hold her down and blow in her face to make her swallow it, and it was stressful!! When we went to Clay County for the holidays, it just wasn't worth it.
I'd perfected the trick to getting her to take it, and she knew if anyone else was trying to get her to take it! We'd been discussing the fact that she probably didn't need it anymore, but we were so afraid of what would happen if we stopped it - those were not fun times!! So, we took a chance and stopped the morning dose last Wednesday.

This is the little stinker reading her magazine and waiting on Daddy before daycare this morning - so far, we haven't noticed any of those reflux issues (except maybe a few hiccups now and then).

Speaking of daycare, we've been noticing how sleepy Avery Claire is by 6:30-7:00 every night. When I jokingly told Mrs. Brittany that I didn't know what they'd been doing at daycare but that they'd been wearing her out, she told me she'd (meaning Avery Claire) had cut her morning nap. Mrs. Brittany told me that she usually cuts a baby's morning nap by a year old if the child hasn't already. Avery Claire has always took a morning nap in the baby bed while all of the other kids played in the same room. Well, now she has to be in the middle of all of that playing, so she wants out of the baby bed. This could explain the 15 minute morning nap Sunday!!
However, this is what she looks like by 7:20. And she'd go to sleep sooner than that if we'd let her!

(Daddy sent this to Mommy last night while she was eating with the 3rd grade teachers. I enjoyed my "girl time," but I missed my two faves!)

We knew we'd get to sleep late in the morning because we're going to school late (again), so we wanted her to stay up a little later tonight. She went to sleep very easily at around 4:30, and we let her take a 30 minute catnap before we woke her up. Poor, sleepy baby!

Mommy enjoyed a few minutes on the couch, too!

She did not want to wake up!

That quick catnap was all she needed to make it until about 8:30! She took a bottle and caught a second wind around 7:45 or 8:00. She crawled right over to her stroller, got behind it, stood up, and went to town! She's tried before, but her upper body gets ahead of her legs, and she falls on her knees. We laughed so hard tonight because it was like she'd been practicing when we weren't looking!

For those of you with little ones, check out this site - Hoolie Hoo. Avery Claire does NOT need new shoes, but, oh my, those leopard boots are too cute!!!! I'm not sure I can resist!

Avery Claire I am so glad you are doing good without your medicine. Reflux is no fun but neither is the medicine.
Daycare life is rough. Its hard to sleep knowing the other kids can not have fun without you.
Hope to see you real soon.

The picture of you and Avery Claire on the couch- I love it! Arent they so sweet when they lay like that! Reese has been congested for the last few days and that is the only way she will take a nap when we come home in the afternoons- which I happily grant her demands and lay with her:)
