Snow Week 2011

Photobucket

While many of you have gotten over the snow/ice storm of 2011, those of us in North Alabama are still recovering! We've been out of school all week...that's right. All. week. long!! That's unheard of, right? And we're off Monday for MLK day.
Photobucket
We've really enjoyed our unexpected week off, although we were more than ready to get out of the house by the middle of the week! It didn't take long for us to go stir crazy get cabin fever.
*When Freddy said Emma was going "stir crazy," she looked and him and said, "I'm NOT crazy." So, of course we realized we should refer to being tired of being stuck inside as "having cabin fever."

We done nothing but play, all week! We've had lots of fun! You will notice our child's red cheeks in some of these pictures. I promise they are not wind-chapped. She woke up one day from her nap with the reddest cheeks. She didn't have a fever. We put lotion on them and greased her up really good before bed and they were better the next day!

We've read {and pulled the books off of the shelves a gazillion times}.

We've played in Avery Claire's "house."

Daddy did do a little work...he shoveled the driveway, which made all of the neighbors jealous when we could get out the next day and they could not.

Mommy celebrated her birthday = best one ever snowed in with my two faves.

Every time we put the shapes back in their correct spots on her house, she immediately goes over and takes every one of them out. But then she very kindly offers to hand them over to us. Yes, she loves to share! Wonder how long that will last?

We've done lots of sharing. I think Avery Claire likes to hear us say "thank you," which we do every time she offers us something.

Avery Claire sporting her Bass Pro Shops shirt from Uncle Matt and Aunt Sarah. They went to "the biggest Bass Pro Shop in the U.S." = heaven for Uncle Matt.

We've snacked, a lot. I will definitely have to start a diet next week.

We're playing with makeshift toys because we're tired of all the toys in the house.
Photobucket
We've even resorted to "oldies but goodies" toys = our feet!!
Photobucket
We've given lots of kisses {a.k.a. licks}. Dusty says I've started something, and she will now be licking real dogs and real children at daycare. But it's just so sweet when you ask for a kiss and she gives you a big 'ol smack!! And she cannot crawl by her baby or her doggie without giving them kisses. She's even started kissing things in her books!

We've tried to keep up with the laundry (unsuccessfully). I watched Avery Claire today lean over the laundry basket and kiss the monkey on her dirty pajamas...precious!!
Photobucket
We even love to kiss "the baby" in the pictures around the house.
Photobucket

We've learned to shut the doors....with Mommy and Daddy on the other side of them.
Photobucket

We've emptied many drawers in the house...Avery Claire's new favorite game.

This is what my house has looked like every night after Avery Claire goes to bed but before we've picked up...

Playing, figuring things out, playing....

Avery Claire definitely knows what "No" means. This is the face she gives us when we say "that word" to her. I so wish the picture wasn't blurry so you could get the full effect of the pouty lip!!
Photobucket

We've worn ourselves out playing and playing. I could seriously get used to this life.
Photobucket
And just because I never want to forget these chubby little feet...

It's so funny to see things that other babies do and know that you're not alone with some things. Sometimes I think that I have to be the only person who is constantly putting books back on shelves and tupperware back in the cabinets! Avery Claire is such a doll!

I'm glad y'all enjoyed your days off! The unexpected ones are the BEST! I told Justin this was God's way of telling us I really should stay at home. I still haven't worked a full week yet...I don't know what I will do when I have to!
