Here goes...

I am going to attempt to catch up in the world of blogging. We've been enjoying our summer so far with a girl who thinks naps are for babies. Between swimming, washing clothes, cleaning up, and playing, that doesn't leave a lot of extra time for blogging. You're okay with that, right? As long as I promise try to be better?

We've spent lots of time in the car lately. If you've never tried to keep a very busy 14 month old busy in the car for 6 hours in 2 days, it's something every person should experience once in their life.

We went to Clay County for Memorial Day weekend.

Avery Claire had a slight accident at the funeral home Friday. She ate the concrete sidewalk and skint (?is that really a word?) up her face, her elbow, and her knee. Her face was better in two days, but I had to document her first real scrape. And we won't tell whose watch she was under, will we, Papa?

Avery Claire helped Nana do things to get ready for the Matt and Sarah's rehearsal dinner.

The boys came over to get Matt to go fishing, and Avery Claire made a new friend. She loved her some Chase Miller! He read her a story and thought he was either going to have to take her fishing or stay home with her. She thought she might have better chances of leaving with Josh, so she tried that out, too. She would not even come to her Mama!

Me & brother - very late - we should remember to take pictures before 11 pm.

Around here, there's been some redneck swimming parties out on our back deck.

Yes, all three of us in the blow-up pool on the deck.

Yes, it's a sight to see.

No, no one saw us {unless our neighbor, Skinny did, and she's got her own issues}.

Thank God the trees are full of leaves in the summertime.

Avery Claire loves being outside. She just looks out the door and points. And sometimes she lets us know she does not like it that we won't take her out right then.

Our daredevil only gets braver. One of her new tricks is to stand up backwards in her rocking chair and make it rock.

Can. not. leave. her. for. a. millisecond.

She's discovered the toilet paper. And sometimes it's the only way I can get ready. So I let her pull some off, then put it out of reach. She tears it into tiny pieces and throws them in the tub.

You better be careful before you take a bath at our house, unless you want to be sitting in a sea of shredded toilet tissue.
