Hospital Stay

Avery Claire got to press the lullaby button at the hospital to announce that her baby brother had been born. 

After Bennett had some time under the warmer, we got to go to the nursery to help give him his first bath. 

Big sister was so proud to get to see him again. 

His nurse was the same nurse that taught our "baby basics" class when we were pregnant with Avery Claire. She was precious and made sure to include big sis in every step of the bath. 

Little brother was not a happy camper until he was under the warm running water. His little arms and legs went limp when he relaxed. 

After he was all clean, he had to warm back up before he came to my room. There was a long line of people wanting to get their hands on him - big sister wanted to be first in line!

She was a little unsure about holding him, but she was so sweet and so proud when she had him in her arms. 

And once she'd held him, she wanted to keep holding him. Look at that sweet look on her face. 

Oh, how in love we are with this little man. 

Monday, big sister came back with the family and they hung out all day. 

We were so excited that things seemed to be on track to go home Tuesday, but we were cautious to be too excited because you know how jaundice sneaks up on you right before it's time to go home. 

Bennett took in his first Monday night football game with Daddy.
